What makes First Nations Home Health different from other home health care providers?

Through a philosophy of servant leadership, we focus on the client’s inherent right to be treated with honor and dignity.  By promoting culturally competent care processes, we have established a highly effective health care delivery system unique in the home health care industry.

What payer sources do we accept?

We accept medical coverage from various payer sources, including private insurance, public/government programs, county waivers, and several HMO’s. Contact us to see if you qualify for a payer source that you may not be familiar with. Upon payor source authorization of services, our team handles all necessary billing, payroll and administrative responsibilities.

What areas do we service?

From seven office locations we service the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area and greater Minnesota. Through our Duluth and Bemidji locations we offer services within urban and rural settings (including northern Wisconsin) and also have established services on the Red Lake, White Earth, Leech Lake, Bois Fort, Fond du Lac and Mille Lacs Reservations. Also, we provide services in the Navajo Nation in New Mexico and Arizona.

How do we screen and train our caregivers?

We perform a criminal background study of all in-home caregivers, as well as a personal interview, reference checks and competency evaluation. All employees working with clients are given at least one full day of training. In fact, many employees are trained at the home health aide level.

How do we ensure patient confidentiality?

We take patient confidentiality very seriously and adhere to the HIPAA and all current medical privacy laws. Patient confidentiality is thoroughly addressed in our employee handbook and training sessions and materials.
